The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has rolled out plans for three friendly matches for the Kenya women’s, senior men’s team and U20 national team against Ugandan national teams in the near future in part of its plans to develop the game.
As confirmed by the federation, the first of the three friendly matches will see the national women’s team preparing for the 2016 African Women Championships take on their Ugandan counterparts on Sunday 3 July at the Moi Stadium, Kisumu.
That match will be followed by a double header for the senior men’s national team against their Ugandan counterparts as well as the U20 national team, both these matches hosted in Uganda before the senior team heads to Zambia for their final Group E 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
“We are going to play Uganda Cranes and the Uganda U20 national team in an international double header scheduled for August 30, 2016 in Kampala,” said FKF CEO Robert Muthomi.
“The Stars game will be in preparation for their AFCON qualifier against Zambia set for September 2, 2016, while the U20 friendly will be in line with our vision of building for the future,” added the CEO.
In the friendlies which will be played at the Mandela National Stadium, the U20’s will curtain raise for the match against Harambee Stars and Uganda Cranes, with the former leaving for Lusaka on August 31, 2016 for their AFCON qualifier against Zambia.
