Ahead of the 2017 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier pitting Kenya against Congo Brazzaville, the Congo head coach Pierre Lechantre has intimated that the match against Kenya will be an easy one for his team.
The coach led the side to a 0 – 2 loss to Morocco in an international friendly match just before facing Kenya and in his post match comments, refused to draw comparisons between the two matches.
He said the Morocco match was tough due to the North African side’s mettle and with good quality players as he intimated the game against Kenya will be different.
“Against Morocco, we knew that we played against a big team, Morocco is part of the African top5, plus they have a group of very good quality, even if at some point of the game, the referees may have not been up to the task. But that does not diminish the merit of Morocco.
“We are not at all disturbed after this defeat, we are not worried about the match against Kenya, which is a decisive match for us. The teams are not alike and it will not be the same game,” Lechantre was quoted by football242.
