The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) will be sending a team to the first edition of the Inter Governmental Agency on Development (IGAD) games to be held in Djibouti in 2016 after receiving invites for the tournament.
According to an official communique from the federation, the tournament will be held from the 16th to 26th January and the federation has confirmed participation.
The games will bring together eight IGAD member countries; Sudan, Djibouti, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea and South Sudan. The regional body has organised these games as part of their 30 years celebrations.
The games will be a preserve teams aged between 14 – 18 years in a bid to promote youthful talent and the federation stated that it will be working with the Kenya Secondary Schools Association (KSSSA) to come up with a team with national outlook to send to the games.
Kenya will send both a boys’ and girls’ team to the games.
