Former Nigeria international Kanu Nwankwo has thrown his weight behind the coach Sunday Oliseh led CHAN Eagles ahead of their opener against Niger in Rwanda on Monday.
The Nigeria Home based Eagles will on Monday evening kick start their quest for honours in the Africa Nations Championships, CHAN as they take on West African neighbours, Niger in the second match of the day in Group C.
The former Arsenal man who won the Olympics with the Dream team in 1996 took to social media to express his support for the home based Eagles and his former national team-mate Oliseh who is now in charge of the team.
“Wishing Oliseh and our super eagles all the best in today’s match vs Niger.first game is important so let’s go and get the 3points.” Kanu tweeted.

Both Nigeria and Niger are making their second appearance in the CHAN tournament. Niger made their debut at the 2011 tournament in Sudan and reached the quarterfinals, where they lost on penalties to the hosts.
