Former Arsenal and ex-Nigeria national football team skipper Kanu Nwankwo has hailed his former club for their ‘bright’ start to the year 2016.
The Gunners did just enough on Saturday at the Emirates for the three points at stake as they piped a resolute Newcastle United side by a lone goal; a result that has now given them a two-point cushion at the top of the Premier League table.
Kanu was proud of the result and was on social media; twitter to express his excitement.
He wrote: “Clean sheet and a very good win. good start for the year 2016,is time to win the league come on arsenal #asernal #coyg”

A 72nd minute goal from French defender, Laurent Koscielny was enough to give the Gunners all three points and increase their tally to 42 from 20 games while Leicester on their part have 40 points from same number of games.
