Claudio Marchisio’s injury could push Juventus towards a move for Leicester’s N’Golo Kante, Manchester City’s Yaya Toure or Lazio’s Lucas Biglia according to reports from Italy.
Marchisio is undergoing surgery on his knee injury this morning after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in his knee during the 4-0 win over Palermo on Sunday and could face six months out.
Tuttosport say the Italy international blow could force the Bianconeri to take action in the transfer market by signing another top-class central midfielder and it is believed Leicester’s Kante who is valued at €20m is among the names interesting the Turin giants.
Other options as reported by the Italian tabloid include Toure who looks almost certain to leave Man City in the summer following the announcement of Pep Guardiola as the Etihad outfit new manager, and Lazio captain Biglia.
Borussia Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan has been a long-time target, but the German international appears set for a move to Guardiola’s Manchester City.
Marchisio will now miss Euro 2016 with the Azzurri and Calciomercato.it has reported that he will undergo an operation today to reconstruct the ligament.
The recovery time is expected to be around six months according to the outlet and Juve have been linked with a trio of players to sign to cover for his absence.
