The Amakhosi would prefer to get a better sale on their giant defender Eric Mathoho at the end of the season, than losing him for nothing.
He was linked with Belgum-based teams Anderlecht and KV Oostende last season, but Kaizer Chiefs convinced him to stay on.
Mathoho was key for Chiefs winning the PSL title last season, along with his defensive partner Tefu Mashamaite. The latter left for Hacken in Sweden at the beginning of this season.
“He could be moving to Europe next season. The interest is still there, but as you know Chiefs will have the final say because Tower has a contract with them,” a source told Goal.com
“If he doesn’t move then he will remain a Chiefs player… he’s happy there.”
The 25-year-old Bafana Bafana star was amongst the top two defenders in the league in recent seasons. This time his consistency was disrupted with new coach Steve Komphela’s different style at Chiefs, but Mathoho has done well to fight his way back into form recently.
