Willard Katsande was named the Glamour Boys player of the season, and has been a vital cog in their machine for the last three years
Coach Steve Komphela wants to make sure that the Zimbabwean midfielder extends his stay at the club as soon as possible. They certainly don’t want any rumours to upset the club, the way it did with Yeye last season.
Yeye eventually left for SuperSport United at the end of the season, and he will rejoin previous coach Stuart Baxter there.
Katsande’s contract will expire in June 2017.
“The club has had discussions with Katsande, and he’s well aware that they want to renew his contract,” revealed a Goal.com source.
“It’s still very early, but we all know that the player loves it at Kaizer Chiefs. So, one expects him to extend his contract.”
The only reason he might delay is if he has any concrete offers from Europe. Katsande was previously linked with Bundesliga and Ligue 1 clubs but nothing happened.
