Juventus will target Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic once Paul Pogba’s move to Manchester United is complete, reports have indicated.
The Serbia international’s future at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain, and he was linked with a move to Manchester United shortly after Jose Mourinho was confirmed as their manager and while that potential move now seems dead, he may as well still be on the move this summer.
Italian champions Juventus have already concluded the signing of Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli, and are believed to be preparing for life after Pogba, whose return to Old Trafford inches closer by the day.
Matic lost his guaranteed starting role at Chelsea at some point as they struggled last season, and with the Blues having now signed N’Golo Kante, he is believed to be open to a move to a club where he can be guaranteed more playing time.
Juve have a list of options to fill Pogba’s void, but Matic is the number one target, while Newcastle United’s Moussa Sissoko and AS Roma’s Radja Naingollan are also believed to beon their shopping list.
Pogba was one of the core players as Juventus won another Serie A title last season, but he is now set for a world record £100m move to the club he left as a youngster in 2012.
