Switzerland international, Stephan Lichtsteiner proved the match winner as Juventus beat Lazio in a keenly contested match to seal a place in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia at the expense against Inter Milan.
Rome fans will be unhappy as it was their former boy that shut the arrow which saw them exit the competition as Lichtsteiner had spent three years at Lazio before moving to Turin.
He scored from a rebound after striker Simone Zaza’s shot had come back off the post, Lazio keeper Etrit Berisha looked to have clawed the ball away from goal but the goal-line technology showed it had just about gone in.
The result means Juventus have now won every domestic game they have played since late October, winning a remarkable twelve games in a row against Italian teams after a poor start to the season.
Juventus are now on cause to reclaim their double which they won last campaign where they narrowly missed out on a treble after they lost the Champions League final to Juventus.
