With Jurgen Klopp confirmed as the new Liverpool manager on Thursday night, he’s already been linked with transfers for January.
He’s mostly been linked with players he’s coached at Dortmund, so it’s a surprise that he’s now tipped to go for Swansea’s new midfielder Andre Ayew.
The Ghanaian has been in sparkling form since the start of the season. Klopp had reportedly tried to bring Ayew to BVB when the Ghanaian was at Marseille.
To make it easier to push for a move to the Reds, he’s even a Liverpool fan.
“I grew up watching English football and I support Liverpool,” Ayew told Sportsmail in April this year.
“Steven Gerrard is my favourite player. They have always had exciting teams and now they are a club that like to play with pace and give chances to young players.
“I have been fortunate to experience Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford in the Champions League but I want to play at Anfield and other grounds.”
The current link from Ayew’s camp to Liverpool has been reported by ESPN, otherwise it seems like early days since Klopp is yet to assess his first team while they’re away on international duty.
What is clear though, is that Klopp does rate Ayew and the Ghanaian would be open to jump ship to Anfield.
