Aston Villa led Watford 2-1 and were on their way for a rare victory, thanks to Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew.
Ayew scored his seventh goal of the season, playing a one-two with Rudy Gestede just after half-time, and then struck it past Heurelho Gomes to give Villa the lead again.
Earlier in the game Ciaran Clark gave the already relegated club the lead, but Almen Abdi levelled matters for Watford.
Aly Cissokho’s red card gave Watford the initiative to launch a fightback. Troy Deeney scored both goals to give Watford an excellent 3-2 victory.
Ayew is now expected to leave Villa Park, but there’s another relegation threatened club also interested in his services. That is Sunderland, who’d hope to stay in the Premier League before making an offer for the Ghanaian.
