Jomo Cosmos boss Jomo Sono believes there will still be many more twists and turns in the remaining months of the Absa Premiership season.
Ezenkosi’s 2-1 loss to Ajax Cape Town last weekend was their eighth defeat in 14 games, and sees the club just a point above the relegation zone.
But Sono remains optimistic that his side can find some improved form in the second half of the season, and feels that with the unpredictable nature of the league, its always possible for a struggling team to take points off the big guns.
“Our current position is worrying but why jump the gun and talk relegation? We cry, wipe tears and look into the future.
“Just because Cosmos suffered its eighth loss does not automatically warrant that I throw my hands in the air and say that’s it. Look at what Maritzburg United did to Orlando Pirates over the weekend [a 3-3 draw],” he was quoted as saying.
The Ezenkosi mentor believes that a couple of positive results would quickly change things for his side.
“It will take only two wins to change the misconception regarding Cosmos,” he said.
Cosmos are next in action when they face Pirates at Olen Park this Saturday, 23 January, followed by matches against Polokwane City (away), Black Aces (home) and Chippa United (away).
