Chelsea captain John Terry has hailed the signing of midfielder N’Golo Kante and has described it as a “great signing”.
The French midfielder made his Chelsea debut against AC Milan in the International Champions Cup in the Unites States, and Terry is already impressed by his qualities.
Kante was introduces after 52 minutes and put in a decent display, having just trained with the team for less than a week following his extended holidays due to the exertions of playing in the final of the Euros.
Speaking after the 3-1 win, Terry couldn’t hide his admiration for the former Leicester City midfielder.
“It is a great signing for us and he was incredible last year,” Terry was quoted by Goal.
“t is great to have him part of our squad and all the new boys we have got are looking good so I am delighted and looking forward to getting back to now.
“He was very good tonight, he has looked very good in training but he has not been back too long.”
The former England defender also had some kind words for new manager Antonio Conte.
“He has been very good since he has come in, some new ideas, new methods and we are adapting well to it,” he continued.
“I thought at times and throughout the tour we played well and consistent and I am sure he will be pleased with us but there’s always room for improvement.”
