Nigerian midfielder Joel Obi has suffered another injury blow.
The latest setback for the Torino player happened on Sunday during his team’s warm-up just before the match against Sassuolo which they eventually lost 3-1 at home.
Obi who recently returned to action after a lengthy layoff was initially included in the starting line-up for Torino but the Nigeria international had to be replaced by Afriyie Acquah as a result of the latest injury setback.
Since joining Torino from Inter Milan in July 2015, Obi has made only a paltry ten appearances for his Turin-based club this season in all competitions.
The career of the 24-year-old midfielder both at club and international levels have been continually punctured by injuries, and Obi recently claimed his injury problems are over.
In terms of wages, Obi ranks high among Nigerian players plying their trade in the Serie A as he reportedly commands wages in the region of €500, 000 (N112m) every year
