Torino’s Nigerian midfielder Joel Obi has been ruled out of Torino’s home clash against Genoa in Turin on Wednesday.
The Grifone take on the Granata in Turin, without the 25 year old Nigerian international who is yet to reusme training at the Sisports.
Ahead of the tie, Gian Piero Gasperini is sure Torino won’t be distracted by Saturday’s derby with Juventus.
“The derby is in the head of the players in every city,” Gasperini admitted in his pre-match Press conference.
“But it’s like asking us if we’re thinking of Napoli. No, we’ll do Torino first, then Napoli. I expect the Torino we all know.
“They’re a team who were playing very well, and are now getting some negative results. It seems like this is a League where every team is having trouble putting a run together.
“We know Torino’s characteristics, and we have different ones. In some previous games we’ve won, in others it’s been them.
“We try to get the best result in every match. We can’t play for a 0-0, we have to improve in attack, particularly away from home.
“That’s what I think has limited us, and stopped us having a higher position in the table.”
