Nigeria football legend Nwankwo Kanu has tipped Arsenal youngster Alex Iwobi to do great things with the Super Eagles in the future.
Kanu alongside Austin Okocha helped convinced the 19-year-old to represent Nigeria ahead of England who wanted him to starred in the Three Lions with Jordon Ibe who also has Nigerian roots.
Kanu said: “ He star we are looking for. He is going to learn a lot from Arsene Wenger and the club he is playing for – we need him to bring that back home and make sure he can help the national team.”
Also speaking about the Nigerian, Gunners gaffer Arsene Wenger said: “personally I believe this boy will be a great player for Arsenal Football Club.
“He’s intelligent, motivate, focused every day, has a consistent attitude and I’m very happy for him. I hope he will be with the first team for a long time.”
Iwobi has made five substitute appearances for Arsenal both the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League which demonstrates how highly he is placed on manager Arsene Wenger’s radar.
