Arsenal youngster has been confirmed to have suffered a thigh injury in the 4-3 loss to Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.
The 20-year old was replaced after 59 minutes after picking up an injury, leaving the Gunners to trail 4-1 at some point, despite initially going ahead.
Confirming the injury after the match, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said: “It’s a thigh,” when asked the problem with the youngster.
Iwobi had been tipped to have a big season for Arsenal this term following an impressive debut season last term, and showed why he is so highly-rated as he created the chance that led to the Gunners’ opening goal for Theo Walcott.
The England international had missed a penalty just over a minute earlier, when Iwobi found space just outside the Liverpool 18-yard box and fed Walcott, who slotted past Simon Mignolet in goal for Liverpool, to make up for the earlier penalty miss.
It however remains unclear how long Iwobi will be out for, but an announcement is expected to be made later today.
