Arsenal new kid on the block Alex Iwobi has revealed his desire to participate at the 2016 Olympics with the Dream Team VI of Nigeria.
The 19-year-old is currently having a fine season with the Gunners and has scored twice in his last two appearances for the North Londoners – a form that earned him a new improved contract at the Emirates.
Iwobi who was recently capped by Nigeria at the senior level says he will like to be at the Olympics in Rio de Janiero with Nigeria if given the opportunity by coach Samson Siasia.
“I am looking forward to the forthcoming Olympics and if I am invited, I will do my best to make a meaningful contribution,” Iwobi told Goal.com.
“I believe that Nigeria has a crop of excellent players who are capable of doing great things at the Olympics. Coach Samson Siasia deserves a lot of praise for securing a place for the nation at the Olympics.”
If Iwobi is selected for the Olympics he may miss the start of the 2016/17 premier league season.
