Alex Iwobi couldn’t finish training with Super Eagles on Tuesday evening at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium despite travelling with the team from Abuja as they prepared for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt.
The youngster travelled with the rest of the squad to Kaduna from Abuja on Tuesday afternoon despite initial fears he may miss out after suffering from food poisoning and while he started jogging with the rest of the players, he would eventually be excused.
He went on to have a solo session as he couldn’t continue with the rest of the lads as they had a feel of the turf of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, but sat out the rest of the two-hour training session.
Meanwhile, 24 players trained for the first time on Tuesday evening, with AS Monaco of France left-back Elderson Echiejile the only player still being expected, as he couldn’t join the rest of the squad for the session.
No official reason was given for his absence, but fcnaija was told by a team official that he would be with the team for Wednesday training.
Olhanense of Portugal left-back, Stanley Amuzie trained on Tuesday evening after missing the morning session in Abuja.
