Thika United coach Moses Irungu engineered one of the shock results over the weekend, seeing his side beat Ulinzi Stars 2 – 0 in a Suynday 18 October Kenyan Premier League (KPL) clash.
An elated Irungu, who replaced Briton Tim Bryett at the helm spoke highly of his charges when reached by 366football.com, saying his players stuck to the instructions thus producing the good result.
He however had a few reservations from the game, which he said will be addressed before the next game and he also stated that with their ambitions for the season attainable, complacency will not be entertained.
“I am happy that we got the win though we had a few lapses that will be addressed. It was down to a spirited output and as a result of players following my instructions to the letter and I just hope that we will continue in the same way going to the final matches of the season.
“We will not rest on our laurels after the win; we have ambitions for the season and that means the final push has to be stronger than ever,” he said.
The win saw Thika United rise to ninth on 35 points.
