Dream Team VI forward Imoh Ezekiel branded Team Nigeria Mikel Obi ‘The Boss’ ahead of the start of the 2016 Rio Olympics.
The 22-year-old who was on a season loan to Anderlecht last season is excited at the prospect of playing alongside the Chelsea midfielder who is set to play in a tournament that will make him among a rare few that has played in every major competitions in the world.
Mikel who narrowly missed out on the 2008 Olympics due to club engagements have played at all levels of the FIFA World Cups, won the 2013 African Nations Cup and also enjoyed success at every level of club football.
The presence of the former Lyn Oslo star in the current team is a huge boost and has lifted spirits ahead of Nigeria’s Group B matches against Colombia, Sweden, and Japan.
An obviously excited Imoh posted a picture of himself and Mikel on his personal instagram page with the caption: ‘Training time with the boss @John_Mikel_Obi.’
Nigeria will kick-off their quest for a second Olympic football gold with a game against Group B opponent Japan at the Amazônia Arena on August 4.
