Under-pressure Manchester City manager, Manuel Pellegrini has express confidence that Kelechi Iheanacho and his teammates are solidly behind him amid speculations linking Pep Guardiola to the club.
The Chilean came under increasing pressure after his side lost 2-1 to Arsenal at the Emirates on Monday night in what could potentially become a title decider and news around the club have suggested that Bayern Munich manager Guardiola is primed to take over in the summer after announcing that he will leave the Bavarians at the end of the season.
‘The players know exactly what I think,’ he said. ‘I have no concerns or worries about the future and neither do they.
‘In this world you never know what the future is. The most important thing is to work, to play.
‘We must work and try to work well. You must separate these things from your work. I don’t know if the speculation is wrong. I am not the person who must decide.’
Pellegrini promoted Iheanacho to the Citizens first team following an impressive pre-season and has subsequently scored two premier league goals with some key performances in the Capital One Cup.
