Premier League’s player of the Month of December, Odion Ighalo is set to welcome Malaga attacker Nordin Amrabat as his new teammate at Watford.
The Turkish international joined Malaga on a permanent deal last summer after spending the 2014-15 campaign on loan with the Spanish club and it is believed that the Hornets have met his buy-out clause in the region of £6m.
According to The Mirror, the club had no choice than to sell the player after he begged the hierarchy to allow him join an EPL side which was a lifelong dream.
“I want to clarify some things about Nordin Amrabat. I’m not and and [I] will not think of selling the player, but everyone must understand this,” Malaga owner Sheikh Abdullah Al-Thani told reporters.
“[He] told me ‘this is my dream [leaving Malaga for the Premier League]!’ I can’t say to him ‘you can’t go’. We are human beings. I hope everyone knows that very well.”
Amrabat will complete his deal to Watford this weekend but will have to wait for his debut.
