Nigeria striker Odion Ighalo has given assurances that he will be fit for Watford’s Premier League game against Stoke City on Saturday despite having to limp out of the game against Arsenal over the weekend.
Before now, there were mounting fears in different quarters that Ighalo may have suffered an injury after he limped out of the Cup tie against Arsenal at the weekend but the striker has said that there is cause for alarm; adding that he has only a slight knock.
Watford and Nigeria fans have their hearts in their mouth ahead of crucial games this month where Ighalo is expected to play key roles.
Obviously aware of the apprehension, Ighalo from his base on Monday affirmed that he only suffered a minor knock and he will be fit when Stoke City visit Vicarage Road on Saturday and ultimately for the double-header against Egypt.
“I just need two days to rest and some massage and I will be ready for the weekend’s game,” said Ighalo, whose ended his goal-drought with a sumptuous strike against the Gunners in Sunday’s FA Cup quarter final match at the Emirates.
