Super Eagles fringe star Ifeanyi Matthew has completed a move to Norwegian Tippeligaen side Lillestrom from former Nigerian champions Kano Pillars.
The 20-year old held successful trials with Lillestrom and signed a four-year contract with the club, warding off interests from several other interested clubs, mostly from the Scandinavia.
Matthew has been a star of the Nigerian league over the last two seasons, and his impressive displays earned him a place in Nigeria’s team to the African Nations Championship (CHAN) earlier in the year and he has also been a fringe member of the regular Super Eagles team, as well as a regular member of the home-based Super Eagles over the last year.
He was also a member of Nigeria’s U20 squad to last year’s FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand.
He will resume immediately with Lillestrom, as the Norwegian league has been underway.
