Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc is excited with the Edinson Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic combo following their emphatic 4-1 win against Saint-Etienne in a Ligue 1 fixture last night.
Both players got on the score sheet and also provided an assist each for Layvin Kurzawa and Lucas Moura in the rout.
Blanc is happy that both players who are on seven goals can perform together contrary to many believes that the partnership is not working.
“Everybody has now seen that our attackers are complementary when they have the desire to play together,” Blanc said at a news conference.
“They have different characteristics and qualities, but what matters most is their presence on the pitch, regardless of their statistics. They did very well.”
Paris Saint Germain are currently with 29 points after 11 matches, seven points ahead of the chasing pack.
However, their main priority this season is to try and win the UEFA Champions League – they will travel to Spain to face Real Madrid in Match-Day 4 of the group phase.
