Dani Alves has revealed that he tried to talk former Barcelona teammate Pedro out of a move to Chelsea.
The 28-year-old joined Jose Mourinho’s Blues at the summer for a reported £21m fee and has slotted straight into the first team even scoring on his full debut against West Brom, a game the Premier League champions won 3-2.
However, Alves thought he could’ve been happier with life at the Nou Camp despite struggling to get into the Barca team due to the presence of the amazing attacking trio of Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.
“I told Pedro he should have stayed at the team but too many people got involved,” the London Evening Standard quotes Alves as saying.
“Had he stayed he would have been happy here but we don’t make the decisions. If we did I would want him to stay for years.”
Chelsea are currently placed 16th on the Premier League log after eight matches so far this season and returns to action after the international break with a game at home against the struggling Aston Villa.
