Mpumalanga Black Aces defender Ashraf Hendricks is hoping that they can win the Nedbank Cup this season, but acknowledges that they would have to work extremely hard to claim the title.
AmaZayoni face SuperSport United in the opening quarter-final of the weekend when they travel to Atteridgeville on Friday night.
The Mpumalanga side are currently fifth in the Absa Premiership title race, while they were beaten at the same stage in their other cup assignment this season – the Telkom Knockout.
Hendricks is looking forward to facing Matsatsantsa.
“Yes we have been playing good football,” he said. “But I can’t say we deserve to have a trophy to show for it. That would be wrong because it would imply we want it handed to us.
“We have to earn it because we know what we can do. If we are to cap our season with any silverware, we will have to work hard for it and earn it.”
