The Moi International Sports Center (MISC), Kasarani will be one high security area on Sunday 6 March when arch rivals Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards face off in the Mashemeji Derby, starting 4pm EAT.
Over 230 security personnel will be deployed for the match, as plans to ensure the biggest game in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) ends without ugly events, are put in place.
These will include 100 regular police, 50 Administration police officers, 80 GSU officers, officers from the police dog unit and mounted units plus 100 marshals and stewards.
The Nairobi County Police commander has assured fans that there will be enough deployment to ensure the safety and security for those who will attend the match.
However, with the First Lady half Marathon scheduled for the same day, a number of roads in the city will be closed and fans from Ngong road and its environs have been advised to seek alternative routes to get to Thika road
Ticket sales start at 0900 Hours at the match venue at Ksh 500 each VIP and Ksh 200 for the terraces.
The club officials as well appealed for calm and harmony, urging fans to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship.
