Chelsea have been handed a major boost going into the 2016/17 season following the declaration of star forward Eden Hazard that he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge despite strong interest from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint German.
The 25-year-old had a rocky relationship with former manager Jose Mourinho last season and his situation wasn’t helped by injuries. His situation was heavily monitored by Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and PSG with a possibility of making a bid this summer.
However, after the sack of Mourinho, Hazard came on strong at the final part of the season and scored the goal that handed Leicester City the premier league title in the 2-2 draw against London rivals Tottenham Hotspurs.
Now, he is determined to stay and prove that he is still the star man at the Bridge which will be a delight to new manager Antonio Conte.
“Yes, PSG are not part of my plans,” he told reporters, according to The Sun.
“I have a contract until 2020, I feel good here and I don’t want to finish on a season like that.
“I left Lille as a boss, and I’d like to leave Chelsea as a boss, if I do leave one day. But for the time being I’m here, of course.”
Hazard was recently handed the Captaincy of the Belgium national team after Vincent Kompany was ruled out for the Euro 2016 tournament.
