The Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Issa Hayatou is in Kenya with officials from CAF to assess the levels of preparedness by the country to host the African Nations Championships (CHAN) in 2018.
Kenya was picked as the next host of the tournament held after every two years and involving only players plying their trade in their local leagues, and the country will be looking to match, or better the 2016 edition held by Rwanda.
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has revealed that Hayatou, jointly with the FKF president Nick Mwendwa will on Friday 26 August at the Moi International Sports Center (MISC) Kasarani, give an address over the preparations for the tournament.
“Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will on Friday hold a joint press briefing on CHAN 2018 preparations at Kasarani Stadium,” the statement confirmed.
The briefing is scheduled to kick off at 3.15 pm.
Other officials in the country alongside Hayatou are CAF Secretary General Hicham el Amrani and CAF Vice President Almamy Kabele.
