The Kenya national team Harambee Stars dropped by two places in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday 11 August.
The team had no activity in the month of July, which could be the explanation of the drop from the 86th place to 88th in the August release, after having improved by 43 places in the rankings released in July.
The drop aside, there is a chance at improvement in the month of September with the team scheduled to play a friendly match against Uganda later in the month before taking on Zambia in a 2017 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier early in September.
In the meantime, Uganda has improved by four places to settle at 65th position ahead of the friendly match with Kenya in Kampala.
The drop leaves Kenya in 22nd place on the continent and second to Uganda in the CECAFA region with Uganda being 14th in Africa.
