The Kenya national team head coach Stanley Okumbi has called up eight additional players to the Harambee Stars squad ahead of upcoming assignments.
The team will be playing Sudan in a friendly match on Friday 27 May before taking on Tanzania on Sunday 29 May in preparation for the Congo game on Sunday 5 June at the Moi International Sports Center (MISC) Kasarani.
Posta Rangers keeper Ian Otieno who has been missing in the national team has been called up despite missing in action for his club lately.
AFC Leopards keeper, Edwin Mukolwe has also been called up despite a lack of experience at the top while Chemelil Sugar youngster Joseph Owiti and Western Stima FC’s Eston Esiye have also been handed call ups.
Okumbi has as well picked players from the second tier – the National Super League (NSL); calling up Nakumatt FC’s Peter Nzuki, Zoo Kericho FC’s Nicholas Kipkurui, Tirus Omondi from KCB and Amos Kigandi from Vihiga United FC.
