Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan insists he is still young enough and so he has more time to score more goals for Ghana as he is in no rush to set any record.
The Black Stars captain has scored 48 goals in 96 appearances for the Black Stars and is looking forward to hit the 50th goal journey ahead of the clash with Mozambique.
But the goal machine has revealed that even though he wants to score, he is not itching to set any new record.
“At 30, I am still young to score more so I am not in a rush to set any record. I know I will do that at the right time and with my age, I have more time to play so I will definitely score more.
“Even though it is not my target to score because I want to set a record, it is my responsibility as a striker to score.
“I always would love the win for the team first before thinking about scoring myself but the irony is that I am the one put there to score. So it is my job to be kissing the net all the time.” Gyang is quoted as saying on ghanaweb.com
Gyang will lead the Black Stars when they face Mozambique in a two-leg fixture against Mozambique, the first leg in Accra on 24th March with the return three days later in Maputo.
