Bayern Munich Coach Pep Guardiola has given the real reasons why his team crashed to their first league defeat away to Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.
The Spaniard posited that the defeat for his team was majorly due to the loss of discipline by his players who largely underrated their opponents.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Guardiola said: “We were very strong in the first half and created plenty of chances, but scored no goals. After the break it was very complicated, we lost possession too often.
“You can always concede a goal, but after that we lost our discipline. That wasn’t good, we let them get at us on the break and that was the reason we lost. We mustn’t neglect the core of our play, as we’ve seen in this match.”
The rare defeat has seen Bayern’s lead at the top of the table cut to five points
