The newly appointed Gor Mahia coach Jose Marcelo Ferreira aka Ze Maria will be reporting for duty on Monday 14 March and not on Friday 11 March as earlier communicated by the club.
Ze Maria, a former Brazilian international was elected from a pool of applicants to take up the Gor Mahia job that fell vacant after Scotsman Frank Nuttall decamped to join Zamalek as an assistant coach to Alex McLeish.
Gor Mahia Assistant Secretary General Ronald Ngala stated that the coach encountered a pressing issue that he needed to address over the weekend and as so it was imperative that he reschedules his flight to next week.
“The coach will not be coming tomorrow as earlier promised. He encountered other issues that he had to attend to over the weekend and was thus allowed time to sort them out. So he will be landing in Nairobi on Monday 14th.
“He has rescheduled his flight and changed tickets and while we wait for him, assistant coach Frank Ouna will be taking charge of the team,” he said.
