Newly acquired Gor Mahia striker Jacques Tuyisenge will not be eligible to feature for the club in the CAF Champions League despite the club paying a hefty fee for his services.
The Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions paid 40,000 USD for the Rwandan international’s signature to lure him from Police FC but complications with his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) mean he can’t be available for the continental competitions.
His situation is complicated by the fact that he will be featuring for his nation in the CHAN tournament and the Gor assistant secretary general confirmed he is out.
“Tutisenge is a done deal but he will not be featuring for us in the champions league because he cannot get an ITC now but I am sure he will be a big hit.
“He is a good player and a top professional and I believe he will shine at the club,” he said.
Tuyisenge comes in to replace countryman Meddi Kagere who left at the end of the 2015 season.
