Meddie Kagere is once again on the Gor Mahia radar after the club hit an about turn to reopen talks with the Ugandan born Rwandan international.
After a year with the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) giants where the striker really flourished, the official Gor Mahia portal reported that the player and the club had hit a snag as far as contract extension talks were involved.
However, the club chairman Ambrose Rachier has come out to declare that the two parties have restarted talks and the striker’s fate with the team may be known in the next few days.
“We have not parted ways with Meddie just yet; what is being reported in the media should be treated as mere rumors because we are in talks with him and I have just spoken with him. There is still hopes that he may renew so we wait to see.
“We are still beefing up the team for the coming season and until the transfer closes we cannot say so and so has left the club,” he said.
The striker joined Gor Mahia at the start of the 2015 season on a one year deal.
