Emmanuel Emenike is set to remain at Fenerbahce after all after impressing manager, Vitor Pereira, reports in Turkey have indicated.
Emenike was initially expected to leave the club again, either on loan or permanently after enduring two loan spells last season – first at Al Ain in the UAE and then West Ham in England.
But after scoring three goals in two pre-season games and an overall improvement to his game and attitude, it is now believed he will remain at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium, with former Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie now looking like the one to leave.
Emenike joined the Turkish giants from Spartak Moscow in 2013, but has not really made his mark and has scored only 17 goals in 66 appearances for the club, and clashed with the fans on a few occasions.
It is however now believed that the 29-year old is ready to make his mark at the club, and they are willing to let him stay on.
He has a contract until the summer of 2018, and will have to battle Fernandao and Van Persie as the club’s top striker if the latter is not sold.
