The former Chelsea manager’s contract expires at the end of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, and it’s not guaranteed that he will continue as Black Stars coach.
Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi has expressed that he’s not desperate for Grant to renew his services.
“If he (Grant) decides not to continue, nobody can force him,” the president told Starr FM.
“It could be his decision and we must respect that so if he decides to leave we won’t stop him.”
Grant hasn’t been popular in Ghana, especially for not following the local Ghana Premier League and settling abroad.
He is close to qualifying the Black Stars for the Afcon and should continue to Gabon, but after that it’s not clear.
Grant is tipped for a return to an English club, so he will have to weigh up his own options after the Afcon.
