The German national team will have to plot for the Euro semi final clash against hosts France without key midfielder Sami Khedira in their plans after the midfielder’s injury in the quarter final win over France.
The manager Joachim Loew confirmed the holding midfielder, who has started in each of their matches at the tournament is ruled out for the match on Thursday 7 July.
He is however hopeful that the Juventus man can recover in time for the final should the team reach that far.
“Sami Khedira won’t play for us on Thursday. We will do everything for him to be available for a potential final.” He said.
Germany are already without the suspended defender Mats Hummels and it is thought Liverpool midfielder Emre Can may be the man to slot in as Khedira’s replacement and Loew would go for him due to his versatility.
“He is a player who can be used in a lot of different positions. In training, he has been very convincing. Physically he is very strong and skilled. I think that a player like Can would do our game a lot of good.” Loew added.
