Real Madrid legend Francisco Gento has backed the Los Blancos to beat City rivals Atletico Madrid to win the Champions League just like they did in 2014.
Zinedine Zidane’s men will go head-to-head with the Diego Simeone led side in the Champions League final at San Siro on May 28, a repeat of two years ago where the Los Blancos clinched the La decima.
The game ended 4-1 on that occasion after extra time in Lisbon, and six-time European Cup winner Gento insists that Real Madrid will repeat the feat in Milan.
“We are going to win the same as we did in Portugal. We have a great team, great players and we cannot fail,” the 82-year-old said via Marca.
“You have to fight for the 90 minutes, this is how to win trophies.
“We have never played for a draw and for this reason we have won so many trophies.”
Just at the weekend Atletico dripped out of the La Liga title race leaving Real Madrid and Barcelona to slug it out on the final day of the season.
