SuperSport United beat Orlando Pirates 3-2 in the final of the Nedbank Cup on Saturday.
Dean Furman has endured a tough debut season in the PSL and is relieved to walk away with a trophy at the end.
“It’s unbelievable! We have had a lot of ups and downs this season and a lot of people have written us off, but we showed unbelievable character,” said Furman.
“We have come from behind once again to go on and win the game.”
The Bafana Bafana midfielder paid tribute to the coaching staff and fans, considering that Stuart Baxter took over at the beginning of this year.
“For the players, it is an unbelievable achievement and to the coaching staff, they have been excellent since they came in and we have really loved working with them,” Furman continued.
“But for our fans, it’s incredible. They have stuck with us through everything this season and in a stadium full of Pirates fans they were right behind us.
“It offered us a massive chance to salvage something from our season and turned it from one that we might have wanted to forget to something really memorable.
“For us to lift the trophy on the final day, you can’t get much better than that,” the Bafana Bafana midfielder concluded.
