The process of verification of delegates and voting clubs ahead of the planned Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Branch Elections has been called off by the FKF Electoral Board.
The process was scheduled to start on Thursday 21 January in Nairobi but failed to take place and the board later sent out a communique confirming the change, stating it was forced by factors beyond its control.
The board has not had a good working relationship with the incumbency and on Tuesday wrote a letter to FIFA complaining about the federation’s conduct.
As such a meeting with FIFA has been set for Friday 22 January and thus the verification process scheduled for Friday has also been called off.
“The Football Kenya Federation Electoral Board wishes to apologize to those who came to Nairobi for verification process, which was supposed to happen as earlier advertised for what was beyond the control of the board.
“Similarly, verification scheduled for Friday 22nd January 2016 will not take place to pave way for a meeting with FIFA scheduled on the same day. The Electoral Board shall advice on way forward in due course,” the statement read.
