Coach of the Nigeria U17 team, the Golden Eaglets, Emmanuel Amuneke have warned his team to prepare their minds for a tough contest in their second group game against hosts, Chile on Tuesday.
Amuneke told his players to guard against getting complacent due to the rave remarks they have gotten on the heels of their winning start in the ongoing FIFA U 17 World Cup in Chile.
The Eaglets thumped their American counterparts 2-0 in Santiago but Amuneke says he expects a tougher task against the hosts in Tuesday’s second Group game.
“The match against Chile would be tougher and we want to approach the match with seriousness and high sense of responsibility. We have to be focused because there would be no margin for errors against Chile on Tuesday.” Amuneke told thenff.com
Amuneke further warned that the match against the host would be a different ball game since it is a must win for them to be in contention for the knockout stages.
He maintained that the players must gird their loins to rumble against the hosts who would play yet again in front of their partisan fans.
Already settled at Vina del Mar, the Golden Eaglets will have a feel of the Sausalito Stadium on Monday as mandated by the rules and regulations guiding the championship.
Recall that Chile could only manage a 1-1 draw in their first game against Croatia, hence the believe that they will go all the way for a win against Nigeria on Tuesday in other to brighten their chances of staying on in the Cadet Mundial.
The clash between the Golden Eaglets and Chile will kick off at midnight on Tuesday in Nigeria (8pm Chile time).
