The Football Association have handed Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini and Leicester City centre-back Robert Huth three-match bans with immediate effect.
The two players were issued with violent conduct charges following their clash during the first half of Sunday’s 1-1 draw between Manchester United and Leicester at Old Trafford.
The German was captured by camera to pull the hair of Belgian international Fellaini, who threw an elbow into the Huth’s face in retaliation.
The incident was missed by the match officials, but the game’s governing body has intervened and after the pair failed to contest the charges, three-match bans have been handed to both players.
Huth will miss the rest of the season while Fellaini will miss Premier League games against Norwich City, West Ham United and Bournemouth, but will be available for the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace on May 21.
