Tottenham Hotspurs’ striker Harry Kane has told north London rivals Arsenal that the Lilywhites do not fear Arsene Wenger’s men and anybody else in the title race.
The masked Kane will be a marked man when he leads his Spurs into Saturday’s battle against the Gunners at White Hart Lane this lunchtime.
Both sides slipped up in midweek as Spurs blew the chance to go top by losing 1-0 at West Ham, and Arsenal suffered an even more surprising defeat as they crashed 2-1 at home to struggling Swansea.
“At the start of the season, it was just to be trying to get into the top four. Now that we’re close, it’s just about taking each game as it comes and seeing what happens.
“We still feel we can beat anyone in the league and we’ve been showing that in the last few weeks. We don’t fear anyone. We know what we’ve got to do against Arsenal — pick up three points.
“Obviously the teams around us, the more they lose and the more we win, it’s going to be better for us.
“Whether it’s Arsenal, Man City or Leicester dropping points — we know what we’ve got to do. We’ve got to keep winning games.” The Tottenham hotshot is quoted as saying on SunSports.
Tottenham have been in the shadow of Arsenal for so long but they have the chance to hammer a nail into their rivals’ title challenge with a win that would leave the Gunners six points behind them with just nine matches to play.
Tottenham team second in the Premier League and Arsenal in third three points below, the 178th North London derby is being billed as the most crucial for years.
