Western Stima head coach Henry Omino has laid the blame on fatigue after leading his team to a 1 – 0 loss to champions Gor Mahia in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) clash staged at the Kisumu Stadium on Wednesday 28th October.
Omino’s side had just come frm a loss to Bandari FC in Mombasa where the team lost 1 – 3 on Saturday and though he had a lot of praise for his charges as per their performance in the match, he felt with good rest the result would have been different.
“The journey from Mombasa to here had taken a toll on my players but we had to play the game today (Wednesday) against a good side. The players weren’t match ready but am happy by the way they responded,” Omino said.
Michael Olunga scored the only goal late in the game and Omino was left with face in hands.
“Gor Mahia played very well but I have to laud my players for the effort. I think my boys played well and deserved to get something from the game. It was sad to concede at that particular time of the game,” he added.
