Olimpija coach Marko Nikolic may have to watch the remaining games of the season from the stands after he was handed a seven-match over racist comment directed at Nigerian striker Blessing Eleke
The disciplinary committee of the Football Association of Slovenia arrived at the decision to ban coach Nikolic after adjudging that his comment of ‘black idiot’ against Eleke was racist.
With only seven games left in the 2015/16 season in Slovenia, Nikolic will be away from the Olimpija bench until the end of the season.
Nikolic caused a stir when he made an unguarded comments in Sunday’s game between Olimpija and ZAVRČ when Eleke erupted in wild celebration after his stoppage time equaliser.
“The disciplinary procedure has relied on the TV clip which clearly established that Nikolic commented after Eleke late equaliser with inappropriate language when he loudly exclaimed: “See idiot Crnog “(in Slovenian): ‘Look at the idiot black”), “announced the Football Association of Slovenia.
Nikolic’s ban does allow him access to the changing rooms and formal technical area.
The Coach is also expected to cough out a fine of 1,500 Euros though he has three days to appeal this ban.
